Oh, you play games too?

Well, sort of. Growing up, I played the usual board games like most American kids. All the staples were on regular rotation in our house, games like Monopoly, Scrabble, Trouble, Life, CandyLand, etc. We also played many games with your usual 52 card deck. I thought for many years that that was all the gaming there ever was.

I was wrong!

Around 2010, I learned of a game called Settlers of Catan and I played it with my wife a couple others. My life was changed forever. There was a whole world of other games to be explored. We tried Ticket to Ride, Carcassone, Pandemic, and more. Eventually, in 2017, though my son-in-law and some other sources, I began to learn of a card game called Magic the Gathering. I bought my first set of cards, he taught me how to play, and the rest is history. Since then, it is my go-to game if I ever get a choice. It’s all I want to play. With over 30,000 unique cards and seemingly limitless mechanics and dynamics, no two games are alike, EVER!

I’m super excited at the upcoming launch of Avatar: The Last Airbender. These cards are going to be so much fun to play with because of all the air/earth/fire/water mechanics. These properties are already so ingrained in MTG that it seems like a perfect match. Now, I will say that I do not like anime and manga. It has NEVER appealed to me, not even once. I just like the fact that these cards will work so well with the MTG mechanics.

Here’s an example card. Let’s go!
