When we say someone is a pioneer, we don’t always imagine the founder of a movement, but rather the most notable character from somewhere near the start of that movement. In this case though, I think the actual pioneer is The Lead. King of Kings & Lord of Lords is the title of their latest track and hardcore punk lives on because of it. No other artist in the Christian market has as much tenure, or grit, than Julio, Nina, and Rob. I first heard The Lead on Burn this Record and never looked back. Even though I’ve never been a huge fan of the punk scene, I’ve been consistently drawn to this outfit over the years, and for two good reasons. One, their undying love and praise for our Lord Jesus Christ, and two, their gritty, counter-conformity music. One listen and I hope you’ll agree. (Stick around and I’ll do my best to introduce you to another of Julio Rey’s projects like Frank’s Enemy.
OK, let’s listen to this blistering track now…
